8/8/25: summer is ending and i am not going back to school

site updates have been extremely slow because my laptop is currently unusable. the battery had been broken for a while now and i'd only be able to use it while it was plugged into an outlet. however, at the end of june, i opened it up to glitchy magenta bars covering the entire screen. for a while the bars would disappear at a certain angle so i managed. but the final blow hit when i came back from vacation and opened my laptop to the screen being completely blocked out and white fog around the perimeter of the screen??? no idea WHAT happened while i was gone.

i have been eyeing a panasonic let's note laptop for a couple of years now. i love the silver chunky design, the trackpad, and having so many ports would be a big help since my last laptop only had a headphone jack and charging port. though with all the constantly changng tariff policies being implemented where i live i don't know if i'd be able to import one. the let's note is my ideal pick for my next laptop but i wouldnt mind buying a different secondhand one. i just want to avoid getting one of thsoe ai laptops at all costs...

speaking of COSTS... i recently applied for my first job. the place i applied to is one that i've been eating at since i was in elementary school. i had my interview a few days ago, and i'm a bit suprised i got called back since they were looking for people with past job experience in food prep (i don't have any work experience). it's always been very difficult for me to talk about myself though i've gotten a bit better at it these past few years. not to mention my socialization skills are very poor. i made a memo with every possible question she could be asking me for the interview and memorized my answers for each one which DID end up being useful. i think the interview went... ok?? the lady i talked with was very impressed with my willingness to work. i said i'd work any amount of hours she gave me on whatever days they needed. if i get the job it'll be because of flexibility since one of the workers said that they need someone who can work a lot... i hope i'm not taking on too much at once.
